Introducing……Deidre “D.S. Sense” Smith

Deidre Carmen Smith is a lifetime Detroiter and multi-talented Poet, Singer, and Emcee. Sophisticated beyond her years, Deidre started performing for her family and friends at the tender age of three. Listening to the works of jazz greats such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn molded her eclectic singing style. She will leave an emcee in her wake with her edgy & powerful rap delivery or give you words to ponder with her profound poetry. Other music influences includes: Jill Scott, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Stephanie Mills, Blackstar, Friends of Distinction, and Roy Ayers to name a few.

D.S. Sense’s “Rhythm & Blues” earned her a 2004 Detroit Music Awards (DMA) nomination and regular rotation on Detroit’s own 90.9 WDTR along with an exclusive interview by the station’s DJ Jay Streeter. This singer/Songwriter proves to be very passionate and sincere with her works reflecting her life, thoughts, heart, and experiences. This is truly an artist that is expected to have a very promising career filled with both prosperity and longevity.
